Assessment of Patients With Cancer Under Chemotherapy Regarding Compliance of Home Self-Care Elmek Nimer University Hospital 2014

Abstract

الخلاصة أجريت هذه الدراسة الوصفية المقطعية في مستشفى المك نمر الجامعي لتقييم مفهوم ومواقف مرضى السرطان اللذين يأخذون العلاج الكيميائي بشأن الالتزام بالعناية المنزلية بأنفسهم ا في الفترة مابين أغسطس - ديسمبر 2014. شملت الدراسة عدد أربعين مريض من المرضي الذين يترددون علي مركز العلاج الكيميائي، وقد تم اختيار المرضى بطريقة العينة المتيسرة ، وقد تم جمع البيانات عن طريق الاستبيان الذي يتكون من عشرون سؤلا و تم تحليل البيانات باستخدام برنامج الحزم الإحصائية للعلوم الاجتماعية. أظهرت الدراسة أن الغالبية (9705٪) من مجتمع الدراسة يلتزمون بأخذ الجرعات الكيميائية بانتظام، ومعظم مجتمع الدراسة توزع حدوث الآثار الجانبية للعلاج الكيميائي عندهم في الآتي: "الغثيان الإقياء (1705٪)؛ التعب(1705٪) والإقياء تساقط الشعر (3205٪) " وأظهرت أيضا أن (3705%)من المرضى يحتاجون المساعدة للقيام بنشاطاتهم اليومية . أوصت الدراسة بإنشاء برامج تعليمية لزيادة مستوى العناية الشخصية لدى مرضى السرطان الذين يأخذون العلاج الكيميائي وتعليم وتشجيع المرضى لإجراء احتياجاتهم الأساسية متماشية مع قدراتهم الفردية المحافظة على استمرارية هذه البرامج بإعطائهم نشرات تثقيفية محتوية إرشادات للعناية المنزلية مصممة بواسطة رئيس التمريض وموافقة الاصطاف تعطى لاى مريض أثناء وبعد كل دورة علاج كيميائي .

Abstract This descriptive cross sectional study was conducted in El –Mek Nimir university hospital to evaluate the concept and attitude of cancer patients under chemotherapy regarding compliance of home self care in the period extended from August 2014 to the December 2014. The study involves forty patients whom attended chemotherapy center, they were selected with convenience sample, the data was collected by structured questionnaire which composed of 20 questions and analyzed by SPSS and simple manual statistical methods. The study showed that majority (97.5%) of study group adhere to their chemotherapy doses, and the incidence of side effect of chemotherapy “nausea, vomiting (17.5%); fatigability (17.5%) and vomiting and hair loss (32.5%)”;(37.5%) of the study group need assistance to do their daily activity, The study recommended that There is a need for educating program to: increase the level of self-care among patients had chemotherapy., encourage patients to take a more active role in their care educate and support patients to perform a range of tasks relating to their self according to individual ability and Keep this program continuous by providing frequent leaflets containing guide line for home self-care designed by head department and staff agreement given to each patient during and after each cycle.
